Why Las Vegas

The Elopement Capital of the World

Las Vegas is the easiest place in the United States to get legally married. No waiting period, no blood test, no residency requirement — just two people, a valid ID, and $102 at the Clark County Marriage License Bureau. You can be married the same afternoon you land.

But eloping in Las Vegas doesn’t have to mean a drive-through chapel. LVWC has been creating intimate desert ceremonies since 1998 — at Valley of Fire State Park, Nelson Ghost Town, the Eldorado Dry Lakebed, and above the Grand Canyon. These are the elopements couples plan for months and remember for life.

Here’s exactly how to do it.

The Process

5 Steps to Elope in Las Vegas

1

Choose your ceremony style and venue

Las Vegas elopements range from a $299 hotel-room ceremony to a $4,950 Grand Canyon helicopter wedding. Decide how many guests you want, how much travel you're up for, and what backdrop matters to you — red sandstone desert, a ghost town chapel, a dry lakebed, or aerial views of the Strip.

2

Book your wedding date

Contact LVWC to check availability and lock in your date. Wedding dates at our most popular locations fill 4–8 months in advance for peak spring and fall seasons. Everything behind the scenes is handled by us — you just need to book.

3

Get your Nevada marriage license

Both partners appear in person at the Clark County Marriage License Bureau in downtown Las Vegas with a valid government-issued photo ID. Cost is $102 (cash or card). There is no waiting period — you can marry the same day. The license is valid for one year.

4

Handle travel and timing logistics

Most LVWC desert venues are 45–70 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip. Plan for roughly 3.5–4 hours total: drive out, ceremony (15–20 min), photography, and return. Schedule your license pick-up the morning of, or the day before, your ceremony.

5

Arrive and say your vows

On desert and helicopter packages, LVWC handles everything on-site: your officiant, permit, professional photographer, florals, a witness if you need one, and filing your license after the ceremony. With Sign & Go, your officiant meets you wherever you choose and photography is an optional add-on. Either way, you leave legally married.

Common Questions

Las Vegas Elopement FAQ

How much does it cost to elope in Las Vegas?
LVWC elopement packages start at $299 for the Sign & Go signing (at any location you choose) and range up to $4,950 for the Grand Canyon helicopter wedding. Desert ceremony packages at Valley of Fire, Nelson Ghost Town, and Eldorado Dry Lakebed start at $850–$1,499 all-inclusive (officiant, permit, 200+ photos, florals, and filing).
Do you need a witness to elope in Las Vegas?
Yes — Nevada requires one witness, aged 18 or older, at the ceremony. If you are eloping with just the two of you, LVWC provides a witness at no additional cost.
How long does it take to elope in Las Vegas?
The marriage license takes about 20–30 minutes at the Clark County bureau. The ceremony itself runs 15–20 minutes. Factor in travel to your venue (45–70 minutes from the Strip for desert locations) and photography time — plan for a half-day total.
Can you elope in Las Vegas the same day you arrive?
Yes. Nevada has no waiting period. You can land, get your license at the Clark County Marriage License Bureau (open daily including holidays), and marry the same day. The Sign & Go package is specifically designed for same-day legal signings — your officiant comes to you, wherever you choose.
What do you need to bring to elope in Las Vegas?
For the marriage license: a valid government-issued photo ID (passport or driver's license) for both partners. If previously married, you may need divorce decree details. For the ceremony: your license, comfortable shoes for outdoor venues, and weather-appropriate attire. LVWC provides everything else.
Can you elope in Las Vegas with guests?
Yes. Valley of Fire and Nelson Ghost Town packages come in three sizes: couple only, up to 20 guests, and up to 50 guests (Valley of Fire is $900, $1,199, and $1,499). The Eldorado Dry Lakebed package includes seating for 10. All three venues can host up to 100 guests on a custom quote.
Who handles the permits for a desert elopement near Las Vegas?
LVWC does. Valley of Fire ceremonies run under our Nevada State Parks authorization, and we coordinate the Bureau of Land Management permit and land-use fees for the Eldorado Dry Lakebed. You never contact an agency yourselves. Both locations only allow authorized operators to perform wedding services, so an outside officiant or photographer can't work there.
Can we elope on a dry lake bed near Las Vegas?
Yes. The Eldorado Dry Lakebed near Boulder City is the closest desert venue to the Strip. LVWC's package starts at $1,499 and includes the officiant, ceremony arch, seating, photography, and the BLM permit.
Can we plan a Las Vegas elopement from out of state or abroad?
Yes — most of our couples do. Everything is arranged by phone, email, or our inquiry form before you travel. The only step you must do in person is the marriage license at the Clark County bureau, which takes about 20–30 minutes once you arrive.
Can we bring our dog to our elopement?
Yes, at the desert venues. Valley of Fire allows leashed dogs (six-foot leash maximum), and the Eldorado Dry Lakebed and Nelson Ghost Town are the easiest venues for pets. Plan an early ceremony in summer — desert ground gets hot enough to burn paws.
What is the best time of year to elope in Las Vegas?
Spring (March–May) and fall (September–November) offer the most comfortable desert temperatures — mid-60s to low 80s°F. Summer ceremonies are stunning at golden hour but require early morning or late evening scheduling to avoid midday heat. Winter elopements are crisp, clear, and crowd-free.
